Platform Description

 

AMRU 5 Walking Hexapod Robot

The AMRU5 is the most advanced design among our walking robots.

Each of its 6 legs is actuated by 3 servo motors, meaning that 18 motors need to be controlled and coordinated for it to move fluently. In order to achieve this, we developed a neuro-fuzzy control scheme.

It is was designed and developed at the Unmanned Vehicle Centre in the course of a PhD project and is now lended to the University of Mons to further improve its energy efficiency.
