One of the goal of this study is to evaluate and develop telecontrol and autonomous navigation capabilities for a single vehicle. The work will be demonstrated on different mobile platforms (indoor and outdoor). In order not to restrict the use of the developed tools to specific machines, attention will be paid to the modularity of the structure. Requirements for multi-user and multi-platform systems will be considered during the project but not explicitly demonstrated. It should correspond to the next step of the project (from 2007). The different capabilities will be integrated in a single framework based on CORBA middleware. Another goal is to follow evolution of Advanced Electrical Combat Vehicle ou AECV and Multi Robot Systems for military applications by participating in NATO Working Group. Finally other research on specialised mobility in unstructured terrains includes the study and development of alternative propulsion systems like legged robots. |

This project NM-RS consistently focuses on robot groups to reduce the risk of personal damage or loss of life and to increase efficiency for military operations like reconnaissance, inspection and se-curity. |
