The laboratory

The Unmanned Ground Vehicle centre depends on the Department of Mechanics of the Royal Military School.

Since its creation in the late 80's, the main research activities of the laboratory are the design, the development and the control of mobile robots.

During the first years the main research activity as the development of legged robots. With the Hudem project, the lab diversified its activities and has also been active in
vision and telecontrol of mobile robots. From the begin of the years 2000 the main focus is on the study and implementation of distributed control architectures, Behaviour based navigation and multi-robot systems.
