His role focuses on supporting the implementation of field trials within the framework of the EU-funded\u00a0<a id=\"OWA3a6a99a4-a5eb-dd99-0293-160cacefa867\" title=\"https:\/\/mecatron.rma.ac.be\/index.php\/projects\/courageous2\/\" href=\"https:\/\/mecatron.rma.ac.be\/index.php\/projects\/courageous2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">COURAGEOUS\u00b2 project<\/a>, contributing to the planning, coordination and execution of large-scale counter-UAS test campaigns.<\/div>\n<div>Prior to joining the Belgian Royal Military Academy, Xavier gained initial industrial experience in the food industry as an automation project engineer at the Kellogg Company. He then joined the NGO\u00a0<a id=\"OWA6211af9e-1aa7-03c2-cda3-286b8baaf29d\" title=\"https:\/\/www.hi.org\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\">Handicap International \u2013 Humanity and Inclusion<\/a>\u00a0in 2018 as an Innovation Project Manager. He led the design and strategic development of the Odyssey2025 project, which aims to deploy small drones, multi-sensor payloads including thermal, multispectral and RGB sensors, and GIS tools to facilitate and accelerate land release operations. Within this initiative, he supervised the implementation of trials in real-world conditions across more than 300 hazardous areas in countries such as Chad, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine.
