Short CV:
Ir. Joris Mattheijssens got his Master's Degree in Engineering Sciences at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2007, with a thesis concerning the development of an air bearing for micro gas turbines. In the same year, he joined the Royal Military Academy as a researcher and he now focuses on various apects of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV).
In 2009, he started a PhD, aiming at the development of a bio-inspired ship propulsor. Both Computational Fluid Dynamics and experimental methods are used to optimize the design.
