Mario is a robotic researcher at the Robotics & Autonomous Systems unit of the Department of Mechanics of the Belgian Royal Military Academy. His research focuses on developing solutions for assisted teleoperation in semi-autonomous demining contexts.
He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Politecnico di Milano in 2020 and 2023, respectively, with a thesis focused on developing a simulator-in-the-loop for autonomous navigation stack validation.
He then worked as a researcher at mOve Research Team focusing on autonomous driving applications in on-road and off-road contexts.
He was involved in the development of an autonomous vehicle that took part in the 1000Miglia 2023 race in Italy.
In 2024, Mario joined the Belgian Royal Military Academy to contribute to the BELGIAN project responsible for developing a new concept of semi-autonomous assisted teleoperation for the Belgian Army EOD Group.
