Pietro Riccardo Ferrario is a robotics researcher in the Robotics & Autonomous Systems unit of the Department of Mechanics of the Royal Military Academy of Belgium. His research focuses on improving teleoperation effectiveness of unmanned ground vehicles equipped with dual-arm manipulators for explosive threat disposal. 
He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering, with a specialization in Robotics, from the University of Trento. During his studies, Pietro completed an internship in robotics prototype development at NuZoo Robotics and carried out his master’s thesis at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås, Sweden, combining optimal control and hardware design for humanoid robotic arms.  
In 2026, Pietro joined the Belgian Royal Military Academy to contribute to the eUGS project, which aims to develop unmanned ground systems that support military engineers operating in hazardous environments.
